This week, students finished reading and analyzing Esperanza Rising. Throughout the unit, students practiced reading closely, making text-to-text connections, identifying and analyzing figurative language, and learning how to cite evidence from the text to support their thinking. Next week, students will have the opportunity to reread portions of Esperanza Rising, turning it into a readers theater script and performing a short skit.
Also, stay tuned for Student Led Conferences on November 6th and November 9th! Students will share the work they have completed over the past trimester.
