Update Science and Math

Unit 2 in math is moving right along. Take a look at the Every Day Math Resource for parents to get more information about the learning happening in the classroom.  Students are finding measures of central tendencies (mean, median, mode) for sets of data, deciding the probability of an event and practicing their adding and subtracting of decimals using two different methods. Next week students will begin making magnitude estimates and multiplying whole numbers and decimals. A tentative date for the unit 2 assessment is Tuesday 15 September

In science Mr. Ro and I introduced MRS GREN to the class. This is a mnemonic to help students remember the 7 characteristics of living things.  Students will begin to study the living micro-world. Next week students will use the microscope to view specimens of plan and animal cells.  We wish you a restful weekend.
