Humanities Update

Last week, students unpacked 11 out of the 30 UDHR articles.  Using specific close reading strategies, students determined the main idea of their article/s, the meanings of specific vocabulary words, and engaged in discussion with their peers.  In addition, students analyzed a first hand account of human rights by reading an article titled, "Teaching Nepalis to Read, Plant, and Vote."  Using their knowledge of the UDHR, they discussed whether Nepali rights were being challenged or upheld.

Tomorrow, students will be assessed on their understanding of specific UDHR articles and their ability to connect the articles to another text.
