In Humanities, students learned that writers often look to the words of other authors to help inspire their own writing. So this week, students closely read and analyzed Eleven by Sandra Cisneros. Through this process, students learned that reading is thinking! As we read, we need to think about the characters, ask questions, have opinions about the plot, and examine author’s craft.
After closely reading and annotating Eleven, students will write their own narrative using a similar style or theme, and they will continue to move through the writing process (drafting, revising, and editing).
