Brad's friend said,
No it isn't, it's powered by gasoline.
Brad replied,
I know it burns gasoline but I still say it is powered by sunlight.

ReplyDeleteThe truck needs the Sun. Because, about 40-65 million of years ago there was animals. What made the animals live? We'll if an animal was carnivore how would they survive? The carnivores eat other animals expecially herbivores. But how did the herbivores survive? They eat plants, so that is how they survive. But what made the plants survive? Solar energy, the energy from the Sun. In all those years the animals and plants died and then they converted into fossil fuels. And more millions of years passed and the fossil fuels piled up and they got burned. After all that time passed the fossil fuels converted into oil then the oil converted into gasoline. And what makes the truck/car move? Gasoline because of the chemical energy inside it. So that's why the truck needs the Sun to have motion.

ReplyDeleteI think the answer is that oil is made from fossil fuel. Fossil fuel is made of animals that died many years ago. What did those animals eat they eat plants and the sun helped the plants grow . But when the animals died the bones go into the ground. After many years the bones tern coal and oil that is only two of the things it terns into. But oil is the one that makes the gasoline. So Brad was right.

ReplyDeleteThe truck needs sun to move because the truck needs gasoline and the gasoline is made from oil. Oil comes from fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are what is left of animals and plants that lived a long time ago and those animals and plants needed the sun to survive.
