Today our class had our first ever writing celebration. For the past month we have been working hard on writing strong fiction pieces. Each student went through the writing process - planning, drafting, revising, editing and publishing. In addition, we focused on strong characters, show not tell and problem/solution. After all this hard work we made our great stories into books. We invited our 3rd grade teachers and some other important members of our Graded community to listen to our stories. It was a neat experience to be an author for a day.
The class demonstrated the core value of risk taking throughout the celebration. First, by sharing their stories with others. Second, by singing a song Ms. Schwartz wrote with only 1 chance to practice. Enjoy the video of our celebration!
